Free Chairlift on iTunes

Chairlift

Chairlift have gone downright early 80s perky with their new album Something, even enlisting uber-Brit producer Alan Moulder (who's credits are legion but for the purposes of this post, let's point to his work with Erasure, Depeche Mode and Shakespear's Sister) to brighten up their new wave mix.

AND you can even get "I Belong In Your Arms" for free on iTunes here.

My favorite track thus far is "Met Before." Check it out below.

Ladyhawke is back

We've been without the "Paris Is Burning" songstress for far too long so I'm thrilled to hear some music from her new album Anxiety which comes out next month. I like the verses more than the chorus but this'll be one to grow on....

Mars landing

I don't really like Bruno Mars. All the big singles have fallen flat for me....just doesn't float my boat.

So when I head this track out this week....and asked who it was i was a bit floored to hear that Mr. Mars was the featured player. (I think it's Mr. Green though that really makes it.)

Now I realize this has been out for eons. (My drinking buddy gave me the 'i can't believe you don't know this' look). But what can I say, I've pretty much avoided all of his stuff...So if you don't know it already maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised too.

Emeli Sande Remix

Great remix of this track I first heard last Summer in the UK.
Did you know her real first name is Adele? The things you learn while watching Madonna being nasty and imperious on The Graham Norton Show. (Emeli was the musical guest).

When is this getting a US release already?!

house music movie

kenny - this seems made just for you:

House Music Movie (working title) is a feature length independent film about house music, dance and global pop culture. DJ’s, producers, remixers, dancers and fans discuss their careers and celebrity in this behind-the-scenes look at the house music industry.  Along with footage of house music in action, the film also captures candid conversations about house (also called electronic dance music) with authors, artists, club owners and cultural experts.
